    TIPPMANN 98…duuh

  2. Scarpz April 2, 2012 at 9:54 PM - Reply

    Nice choice Connor!

As you all probably can guess, my current choice of marker is also a Tippmann 98! Accurate, reliable, & fully customize-able!

I’ve had mine for over 5 years, and only ever replaced the bolt and spring once! Talk about low maintenance! I’ve taken it apart a few times to clean, other than that she’s always good to go!

Rain or shine she will outperform almost any other marker in it’s class. As times change there is always the need to upgrade, but for the era the Tippmann 98 Custom was in, it held the crown for quite a while!

how much money was it for you to get all your M4 equipment for your tippmann

    • Scarpz April 4, 2012 at 9:14 PM - Reply

Depends where you get your stuff, where you live etc but to make your marker a basic M4, if you purchase your upgrades online you could do it for around $400
      - New barrel – $70-$100
      - M4 Shroud – $50-$60
      - M4 Stock – $60-$90
      - Carry Handle – $30-$40
      - M4 Mag – $40-$50
      - M4 Front Sight – $30-$40

I agree with the tippmann 98c. It is the ak47 of paintball.

Love your video’s! I want to buy my first gun. but i have a low budget (very low). What’s the cheapest guns available and where from? And any advice for a newbie?

    • Scarpz April 22, 2012 at 3:02 AM - Reply

Thanks Scott! Which ones your favourite? The cheapest gun available, would probably be a Kingman Spyder or something similar. It’s around $60.00CDN or for you 40pounds. eBay is the best place to look if you wanna save money. It’s a decent starter gun, my friend had one when we were kids its the first paintball gun I ever shot.

I have a tippmann 98 custom. I putted a barrel just like yours but a little bit different (cause my favourite weapon as you see is the M4A1). But i really like Mil/Sim weapons and personaly i like the BT TM-15. Can you tell me what is more accurate? The BT TM-15 or the tippmann with a 16 inch barrel?Oh and my favourite video is the “14 kills in 1 minute”!!!

    • Scarpz April 25, 2012 at 1:45 PM - Reply

Okay nice, well I love the Tippmann 98, but I picked mine up 6 years ago before all the new markers came out. At this point in time I would have to say the BT TM-15 is more steady with shots and probably more accurate! And right on! That’s one of my most exciting videos so I can see why!

  8. Sidewinder April 28, 2012 at 9:22 PM - Reply

Personally i prefer my Axe, and shoot faster, more accurately and probably more reliable than an old 98.

    • Scarpz April 29, 2012 at 4:46 AM - Reply

Definitely a good marker, is yours electronic though? Can you vouch for an electronic marker being more reliable than mechanical? With the added components it’s hard to compete with a simpler firing system in terms of reliability.

i have a question i have a jt tcatical paintball gun and i love it but my question is thah if i sell my jt tactical for buy me a bt omega or bt delta or a project salvo what u recomend me?

    • Scarpz May 12, 2012 at 12:53 PM - Reply

if its only a choice of those 3 markers, I would choose a BT Delta Elite or Project Salvo.

  10. i love paintball May 12, 2012 at 1:52 PM - Reply

oo thanks but im thinking to buy me a 98 custombut how much money cost make it m4? or an A-5 what would u choose?

    • Scarpz May 12, 2012 at 3:34 PM - Reply

Nice! Hopefully my videos had an influence on that decision :P I would get an electronic trigger 98 or A5, either way too many people have electronic guns shooting 15+ balls a second so to keep up you might as well start off at the same level. That’s not really a question I can answer, depends where you get your stuff, where you live etc but to make your marker a basic M4, if you purchase your upgrades online you could do it for around $400

      - New barrel – $70-$100
      - M4 Shroud – $50-$60
      - M4 Stock – $60-$90
      - Carry Handle – $30-$40
      - M4 Mag – $40-$50
      - M4 Front Sight – $30-$40

i think that 98 costum is better than the tippman x7 phenom hahhaha :)

    • Scarpz May 12, 2012 at 8:04 PM - Reply

lol! that’s a bold statement I love my 98 but the X7 is years ahead of it since it came way after!

  13. Endriff620 May 26, 2012 at 10:44 AM - Reply

I gotta say, i love my 98 custom as well. I put the flatline barrell and a 6 pos. stock on it and am having a blast! I was thinking about attaching a red dot sight but dont know what would be best. What do you think?

    • Scarpz May 26, 2012 at 3:31 PM - Reply

Yep 98′s are quite legendary! I would recommend going with a Tasco scope, they make phenomenal products!

  14. Endriff620 May 28, 2012 at 9:17 PM - Reply

Awesomeness! Will have check them out. Thanks!

  17. danny July 19, 2012 at 4:20 PM - Reply

i like the tippmann sierra 1 (project salvo) very little maintenance needed mid range for customisation suitable for loads of game types and fairly light. overall a great beginners marker ! tell me if you have ever used it and your thoughts thanks :)

    • Scarpz July 19, 2012 at 4:26 PM - Reply

Nice choice, never used it before however. Talked to a few people who have one they seemed to be happy with it.

  18. danny July 21, 2012 at 10:33 AM - Reply

hi me again how much was the red and black gun camo for your 98 and where did you get it and is it available for the sierra1

    • Scarpz July 23, 2012 at 8:25 AM - Reply

It costs as much as the cans of paint, I did it myself there is a video of how I did it here on my website just search “red tiger custom gun camo”

Hey Scarpz! Got another question for you. I am looking around for a carry handle for my 98 custom that has rails on top for my new cp 1×40 red/green dot scope. im having some problems finding one that will fit my marker. You got any leads?

    • Scarpz October 1, 2012 at 11:46 AM - Reply

That’s a common situation, finding the right rail size, it usually simply takes some serious searching I would just type good keywords in Google like: “Tippmann 98 Custom Carry Handle Rail Mount”
